Come and join the MAMA Community
One key value of MAMA is the community vibe. Whether you walk in our door for the very first time,
or it is already your second home after many visits, we are hoping that you feel welcome,
supported and looked after.
At MAMA, we facilitate a variety of group events with the main purpose to connect like-minded parents.
Feeding Drop-In
The (breast and bottle) feeding drop-in is free of charge and is for pregnant people and feeding mothers. We keep the group small (max six) and host two sessions per week at MAMA Kensington and a fortnightly session at MAMA Hampton.
The main purpose of this clinic is to meet other parents in a relaxed and supportive environment, to build community, learn from each other and know you are not alone. There will be a Lactation Consultant present to facilitate and they will be on hand to answer any general questions, observe your feeding and offer tips and tricks. You can weigh your baby, change your baby, cuddle your baby, feed your baby. You can come as a once-off to check it out and get your questions answered, or you can come every week and meet up with the community on a regular base.
Connect Mothers’ Group
The Connect Mothers group is a course of 6 sessions of 90 minutes, for first time mums and seasoned mums, and babies up to around 4 months (at the start of the course). We cover intentional topics and aim to create a deeper connection between the parents that lasts.
Women’s Circle
Our women’s circles are first and foremost about connection, story sharing and having fun. You don't have to be a certain kind of woman to attend them. And you don't have to be pregnant or a mother - all women are welcome. We will talk, laugh, probably cry, eat cake, drink tea and move through some rituals and practices together.
Working Through Birth Trauma Circle
Our Working Through Birth Trauma circle provides a safe space for those who have experienced birth trauma and are ready to share their experiences. Together with a health professional experienced in the maternity and mental health fields, you will be held in a safe, emotionally supportive and non-judgemental space with the freedom to share experiences, learn from and support each other. There will be time to share with the group, as well as time for connection and chat. We look forward to helping you debrief and growing your network.
Yoga Classes
At MAMA Kensington, we offer Pregnancy Yoga and Mums & Bubs Yoga classes. These are a great opportunity for regular connection with others in the same stage of pregnancy/parenting as you. Come and check it out!
Group Baby Massage Courses
Baby massage is a wonderful skill parents can add to their toolbox, which can be utilised throughout their child’s life. Correct stroke techniques and timing are vitally important to achieve the many benefits of baby massage. Research has also shown that performing regular baby massage has helped caregivers feel more confident and less stressed, enhancing the special bond with their baby.
